It is a copy of Fantastic Four #50, which was actually written and edited by Stan and the third part of the Galactus Trilogy - a nice book by itself. The great part about this one is though that it was signed by Stan Lee at a con in New York in 1977! The signature is neat, clear and very well placed.
Lee's signature is ubiquitous now, but back then there were not nearly as many books being signed by him, especially on the cover. It really is one of the nicest Lee signatures you are going to find.It has been cased and verified by CBCS and the book has been graded a 3.5. I was told by the original owner that the book was signed at a comic convention in New York, late in the year around his birthday. I've done quite a bit of research and I strongly believe this book was signed at CreationCon in November of 1977.
To that end, I have included the program for the con to display with the book. I haven't been able to find an actual picture of him at the con.
I've offered nice bounties several times and no one seems to have the definitive shot. Maybe his death shakes something loose.
A photo would really make this a killer display. I've seen one signature dated "'74" but that book was very much not for sale. The slab is nice and clean, no scratches, no cracks, no chips...
Don't miss out on grabbing this piece today. I also know that condition can be very subjective, so I encourage you to see pics for exact condition details and ask questions if you need additional information.
